Quite a Distinction for Allegany College of Maryland

Last week, I saw an article that ranked Allegany College of Maryland as one of the top two- year colleges for securing a high-paying job.  Prospective applicants looking for the best colleges and universities should forget about all of the US News and World Report, Money and Forbes rankings for colleges and universities.  After reading this article, I recommend they look at the study from the Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program, which is part of the well-respected and renowned Brookings Institute.

Allegany College has been identified as one of the nation's leading colleges with "majors providing a path to higher-paying careers in business and health care."  Allegany College of Maryland has a very robust allied health professions program.  They offer nursing, as well as didactical training for physical therapy assistants, occupational therapy assistants, respiratory therapists, radiology technologists, pharmacy technicians and medical laboratory technologists.  This is the first ranking that provides information on economic success among graduates from colleges and universities.

As a ACM Board Member and the CEO of the training site for all of Allegany's allied health professions, I am thrilled for Allegany College of Maryland and its leadership and faculty; this is a distinction that is so well deserved.
