A Different Set of Core Values

There is a great article in the latest issue of Success Magazine on Tony Hsieh, the CEO of Zappos.  If you aren't aware, Zappos is an on-line retailer for shoes and Tony grew the company quite dramatically.

What caught my attention were Zappos’ unique set of Core Values which are as follows:
Deliver WOW through service
Embrace and drive change
Create fun and a little weirdness
Be adventurous, creative and open-minded
Pursue growth and learning
Build open and honest relationships with communications
Build a positive team and family spirit
Do more with less
Be passionate and determined
Be humble

Tony Hsieh says that the core values are a compass for his organization, a tool that empowers everyone.  The core values are used as a set of guidelines to hire and fire.  You don't want to fail the core values test or you may be asked to leave the company as determined by your co-workers.  Wow!
