New Lows for Cyber Monday

In addition to the many solicitations from major stores and other retailers for Cyber Monday, today I began receiving solicitations actually stating Cyber Monday Sales for health care related webinars, books on leadership and management, quality data software, training and development seminars and the list goes on.  All stating 20% to 60% in savings if I act today.  These companies need to have some self-respect for what they do, as many are well known law firms, training and development educators and national quality associations.  As I was blogging on the new lows for Cyber Monday, an email came across my desk on another new low, "how not to get screwed on Cyber Monday." Some of the tips were as follows:

  • Use credit cards not debit cards; it's easier to work with your credit card company when there is a problem
  • Don't give out personal information in your zeal to get a great deal
  • If you buy from eBay, make sure that you check out the seller thoroughly
  • Do your buying from home not in public WiFi locations or WORK
  • Buy from reputable companies
  • Make sure that your connection is private and that your login in secure
  • Don't buy from pop up ads they may contain viruses or worse yet be fraudulent sites

Happy shopping from the comforts of your home as I await the post Cyber Monday deals from previously well respected law firms, training & development educators and quality associations.

  1. While Cyber Monday is the less stressful version of Black Friday, people should be more cautious during the former as scams are everywhere too.
