New White Boards

A new addition to the inpatient rooms at WMHS is a larger White Board.  As we focus on improving communications between our providers, caregivers, the patient and their family, the new White Board will go a long way in achieving that goal.  I have attached a photo of a board that is yet to be installed.

The board is updated per shift with the members of the care team, the anticipated discharge date, pain assessment, when hourly rounding occurred and what was done, the daily plan for the patient, any precautions, fall reminders, the date and the location of where the patient is in the hospital.  The boards are being installed and I am hopeful of the impact on the patient and family experience at WMHS.  More to follow on the progress once they are installed and put into use hospital wide.

  1. I saw a picture of a message on the wall of another hospital with an illustrous history, it read "Tradition is cherished, Change is welcome". As much as I love change and the digital age and all the benefits gained from them, sometimes nothing beats the good old fashioned chalk board from which alot of information could be gleaned at a glance not to forget it offers a very low chance of crashing, corrupting, crossing HIPPA lines and such... Kudos to the old school
