Last week, the Center for Clinical Resources opened in Suite
300 of the Medical Office Building next to the Hospital. In our effort to improve the
health status of our community, we have established the Center for Clinical
Resources. This is a place where area
residents who need help in managing their diabetes or suffer from congestive
heart failure (CHF) or have respiratory issues such as COPD or need assistance
in managing their anticoagulation medications can get the help they need to
live their life to the fullest. Previously, we had individual
clinics in separate locations, but combining these services into one location
will be of great advantage for patients, especially those with multiple health
issues.
We are now seeing about 40 patients a day with the
anticipation that this number will grow rapidly. These clinics have
been highly successful over the last year. For example, CHF patients
have reduced their use of hospital services by 34% over the last year and unplanned
inpatient admissions for diabetic patients being monitored by our team has
decreased by over 50%. All is good.
Congratulations and thank you to all of those involved in
making the Center for Clinical Resources a reality.
